Daniil Kharms’ stories of paradox
2019
"You must keep your composure, that is, to know how to keep you mouth shut and not change your facial expressions constantly. When discussing with someone and he tells you something absurd, speak to him sweetly and agree with him. When someone says “I am bored”, know that behind this there’s always something that has to do with sex. "
The performance accurately portrays a day in the life of one Anton Antonovich. The text is a compilation of short stories by Russian author Daniil Kharms, a representative of the Russian avant-garde, presented for the first time in Cyprus. The stories are without meaning, they ridicule the human condition, and also protest deeply. None of his happenings change anything. Nothing ever happens.
