"Orestes, I tell you one thing, Aegisthus must die. If he lives I die. I will not give myself, defeated, to the enemy, to be disgraced. "
Electra, daughter of murdered king Agamemnon, lives in an isolated farmhouse outside Argos, in an unconsummated marriage. Day and night she does nothing but mourn for her father. Her brother Orestes returns in secret, burdened with the debt of revenge - murder for murder, Apollo told him. This is the story of a crime, and a question floating ironically: which order has been reestablished now that you have killed your mother?
