Exercise on meter
text from Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex 
2008

A presentation of Lukasz Walewski and Elena Agathokleous’ practical research on texts of ancient greek tragedy. Emphasis has been placed on text rhythm and melody, which were worked on according to the rules of prosody. in this particular exercise are heard excerpts from the chorus and dialogue of Sophocles’ Oedipus Rex, in the ancient greek and in the vernacular. Parts of these texts were presented for the first time in the performance Ludus Oedipus by group AlmaKalma in Greece.
